| The Villages of Lady Lake known as Florida's Friendliest Retirement Hometown is mid State. Situated 55 miles north of Orlando and 25 miles south of Ocala.
The area has pleasant temperatures throughout the year. It is close to the Florida Turnpike and adjacent to 441/27 enabling easy access to all parts of Florida. Disney World, Universal Studios, Silver Springs, Cape Canaveral, Ocala National Forest and Daytona Beach are an easy drive away. Play free golf on the 14 Executive golf courses (9 hole but varying standards) with more under construction. 5 championship courses are available for a small charge. Swim in any of the 13 or more pools, try water aerobics and water volleyball or play pickle ball, tennis, boccie (a kind of boules), lawn bowling, softball, shuffleboard, table tennis, bridge, ten pin bowling at two 36 lane locations for a small charge with many more activities too numerous to mention. Enjoy transferable membership to sports activities for the length of your stay. Go down to either Spanish Springs Town Square or Lake Sumter Market Square for Happy Hour, listen to the music, enjoy the free entertainment, dance the evening away or just sit and people watch every night of the year. Visit the live theatre. Eat in one of the numerous restaurants, have a drink in The Villages own brewery, shop, go to either of two eight screen cinemas showing brand new films, enjoy good old fashioned fun in a unique environment. There are banking facilities, numerous venues for worship, a fully equipped hospital with emergency medical facilities, community TV, radio station and a daily newspaper. Orlando or Sanford Airports' are approx.60 minutes away.
