While the fairways are spacious and forgiving, they are long, so the tee shot is key. 'The drive is at a premium here because of the length of the golf holes,' according to Tom Gavan, who helped create and nurture the course. 'The course can be a test of long-drive stamina or a reasonable challenge from the blue (6,905 yards) or white (6,521 yards) tees.' Regardless of which of the five tees you choose, you still have the daunting elements - wind, water, vegetation and sand - with which to contend.
